The painting includes 115 figures, consisting of palace ladies, maids, eunuchs, painters, and children, vividly recreating the life scenes of the women in the palace.
The figures in the painting are either leisurely sweeping yards, watering flowers, carrying things, or playing musical instruments, appreciating paintings, playing chess, reading books, chasing butterflies, or dancing and chatting, bringing to life the daily activities of the Han Dynasty palace women.
